Norfolk Island

Fabulous Norfolk Island

Welcome to our Norfolk Island

“This is an island paradise“ Captain James Cook 1774

This picturesque island of 3,455 hectares is situated just one and a half hours flight from Auckland. Her history is one of folk lore - convicts, bandits and the crew of the Bounty, all have had their place since its discovery in 1774. After discovering and naming the island Captain James Cook wrote, “this is an island paradise” and despite her past his words ring true today!

Norfolk Islands stunning scenery is dominated in the north by fluted, imposing cliffs fringed with Norfolk Island pine trees, the low-lying south features the golden beaches of a lagoon sheltered by a coral reef.

Norfolk is a place for relaxing, a place to escape the busy lifestyle that life now dictates. A place to enjoy the friendly locals whose warm hospitality becomes apparent from the time you touch down.

Driving around the island, you will discover the diversity of the island scenery and may even get to see the infamous green flash as the last suns rays disappear. A relaxing or invigorating stroll or mountain bike ride through the National Park, horse riding or a scenic tour. Alternatively join the locals at the golf course, the gun club, and the bowls or tennis club.

At night you’ll enjoy wining and dining at local restaurants or under the natural light of the stars on your balcony. Then there’s Burnt Pine with its endless array of tax-free goodies.

Norfolk, a place to recharge the batteries, breathe in fresh clean Island air tinged with the scent of the local pines and boisterous ocean.
