Whitsundays

Great Barrier Reef/Whitsundays

 Living the dream

The Whitsundays boasts 74 tropical islands rising from pristine waters and a vibrant coast.

Centrally located on the Queensland Coast in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef.

The colours here are blue. The astonishing deep glow in the ocean is caused by fine particles of tidal sediment, which scatter the sunlight as it penetrates the surface of the glittering Coral Sea. The contrasts continue with the green tops of the islands and the solid green backdrop of coastal National Parks.

Sophisticated or uncomplicated, luxurious or standard accommodation, the resorts of the Whitsundays offer romance or adventure, relaxation or activity.

Sip cocktails by a pool, take a picnic on a deserted beach, go island hopping, whale watching (in season June to September), fishing, cruising, or have a go at kayaking, snorkelling, diving or jet skiing.

Take a bareboat “skipper yourself” around the calm safe waters or choose a fully crewed yacht charter to relax and be pampered.

Over two hundred and thirty years after it was first named by Royal Navy Lieutenant James Cook, the Whitsundays has many experiences still waiting to be discovered
