Wild Western Australia

PerthThe Outback CoastMargaret River and the South WestBroome and Kimberley

Western Australia is home to the vibrant city of Perth and an amazing array of landscapes.

Lush wineries along the Margaret River, blue skies & fabulous city life in Perth, pounding surf beaches, stunning marine life and even desert.  For a little first hand inspiration, read what Kate Murchison had to say about her trip.

If you like travelling to a warm climate then Perth is your kind of place; we had day after day of perfect blue skies and warm sun. Locals joke that you can plan a barbeque a year in advance as you know it won’t be raining.

The city itself has lots to offer; it’s modern, friendly, vibrant and lies right on the banks of the Swan River. There are great restaurants, bars, cafes, shops and some fantastic local beaches.

Down the coast is Fremantle, a hive of activity day or night. We headed out to Rottnest Island which was a real blast, it is only 18kms off the coast from Fremantle and is teaming with marine life and crystal clear waters.

Further down the coast you will find the Margaret River area, famous for its big surf beaches, wineries and limestone caves. If you have time to get there you must go.

If you are heading north your first stop should be The Pinnacles.  The limestone pinnacles are up to 5 metres tall and form part of the Numbung National Park. Next stop will be Shark Bay located 800km north of Perth - home to some of Australia’s most spectacular marine life. Depending on what time of year you visit you could see dugongs, turtles and whales and at Monkey Mia you can even pat the wild dolphins.

Further north, right up the coast are the famous Bungle Bungle in the Kimberley Region and Broome, a popular spot for adventurous tourists.
Western Australia is such a great place to visit and well worth the time on the plane. I’ll certainly be going back!
