On the Move in Aussie is all about getting off the Beaten Track and seeing Australia through new eyes.
Whether that’s out the window of a train, in the rear view mirror of your rental car or motorhome or along the horizon of a cruise ship. For a little inspiration & first hand experience, read on…..
I have spent a lot of time in Australia, but the best times without a doubt have been those occasions where I have ventured off the normal tourist track and ‘gone bush’. The first thing I learnt about ‘doing my own thing’ was the place is HUGE and it needed some careful planning.
Campervans are a great way to travel in Australia. When you consider you have your transport and accommodation in the one package, it’s a very inexpensive way to explore and you get to meet some real Australians.
Rail travel in Australia is definitely a favourite of mine. One of my life’s great experiences was to cross the Nullabour by train – a truly fantastic trip. The new route through the centre from Adelaide to Darwin via Alice Springs is also something that will be enormously popular.
If you are looking for a slower pace then consider a cruise. Whether it’s exploring the fascinating history of the Murray River in a self catered house boat, or the beauty of the Barrier Reef and Whitsundays in a luxury launch, there are lots of options to choose from.
No matter what part of Australia you choose to explore, and what method you use I know you will enjoy meeting the locals who love sharing their country!
